What to Send for a Custom Furniture Quotation

· TY Furniture Factory

A reference photo is a useful starting point for a custom furniture enquiry. To move from an idea to a clear quotation, send the factory a few details about size, materials, quantity and destination. You do not need a finished technical drawing to start the conversation.

1. Show the design, and explain what you like

Send the clearest reference image you have. If possible, include front, side and back views. Close-ups help explain details such as the shape of an armrest, the edge of a table or a metal base. If you have selected a piece from our product collection, include its TY product code.

Tell us which features matter most. For example: “I like the curved back and separate arms, but I want a different base.” A photo communicates appearance; it does not confirm the hidden construction or exact proportions. Our team reviews how the design can be manufactured before those details are agreed.

2. Give dimensions in one consistent unit

For a sofa, chair or cabinet, start with overall width, depth and height. For a dining table, include the intended seating arrangement; for a bed, specify the actual mattress dimensions rather than relying only on a size name. Mark all measurements in centimetres, millimetres or inches so there is no ambiguity.

If you are unsure about the furniture size, send the available room dimensions and explain how you want to use the space. Also check doorways, lifts, stairs and tight turns along the delivery route. A piece that fits the room may still need a different assembly arrangement to reach it.

3. State the quantity for each design

List each item separately, including any differences in size or finish. Two sofas in different fabrics should be clearly identified, even if the base design is the same. TY Furniture Factory has no minimum order quantity, so you can enquire about a single piece as well as a larger project.

4. Describe materials and everyday use

Share your preferred fabric, colour, wood finish, stone or metal tone. If you have not chosen a material, explain the look and feel you want and who will use the furniture. A family living room and a frequently used guest lounge may call for different material discussions.

Reference photos can guide the shortlist, but screen colour alone should not be treated as final material approval. Our upholstery guide introduces the main options. Specific material availability and suitability need to be checked for your order.

5. Include the destination and your preferred timing

For the first conversation, your delivery country and city are useful. Tell us whether you have a freight forwarder or need help finding one. Shipping arrangements are a separate part of the discussion, and the forwarder will need more information to confirm the delivery scope.

Our usual production lead time is 25 to 45 days, depending on the products and quantity. International transport and destination delivery take additional time. If you have a move-in date, share it early and ask for the production and shipping stages to be considered separately.

A message you can copy

“Hello TY Furniture Factory, I would like a quotation for the attached design or product code. Item and quantity: ___. Preferred dimensions and unit: ___. Material or colour preference: ___. Delivery country and city: ___. Desired delivery date: ___. I have a freight forwarder / I need help finding one. The details I want to change are: ___.”

What happens after the enquiry?

Our team checks the design and prepares a quotation. Once the project proceeds, our designer prepares a production drawing for your approval, and material choices are confirmed before manufacturing. For a bulk order, a sample can be arranged according to the agreed requirements; for a single piece, the approval is based on the CAD production drawing. See the customization process for the full sequence.

Before accepting a quotation, confirm what it covers: the item specification, materials, quantity, packaging and any separately arranged shipping services. Clear written details give both you and the factory the same reference to work from.

Send your design and discuss the materials and details with our team.
