How to Send a Furniture Reference Photo a Factory Can Actually Use

· TY Furniture Factory

Say what the picture means

A reference image may show the style you like without showing the exact dimensions or materials you want. Mark the parts to retain: curved back, arm height, leg shape or stitching. Separately mark anything you want changed. Do not ask a factory to guess which element attracted you.

Send more than one view if possible

Front, side and rear images reveal different construction decisions. Add close-ups of edges, seams, bases and hardware where they matter. If a view is unavailable, tell the factory which feature still needs interpretation rather than presenting a single photo as a complete production drawing.

Add a scale and a use case

Include approximate width, depth and height, the room or project context, and how the piece will be used. A hotel chair and a home lounge chair may need different comfort and maintenance choices even when their silhouettes resemble each other. Include quantity and delivery country for a useful first quotation discussion.

Separate inspiration from approval

A quotation based on a photograph is an early estimate of a proposed specification. TY reviews the reference, prepares a quotation, and then develops a production design for approval. Before manufacturing, check the drawing and material record against the features you marked as essential.
