Will a Large Sofa Fit Through the Door? Plan Modular Delivery
· TY Furniture Factory
Measure the route, not just the room
Record the clear width and height of door openings, lift interiors, stair landings and the narrowest corridor turns. Note obstacles such as handrails and fixed doors. The sofa's placement dimensions are only part of the problem: packed modules must travel through the route and be turned into position.
Agree the module plan early
Ask the factory whether the selected shape can be split into sections. Confirm each section's outside dimensions, how pieces join, and which parts can be removed for delivery. Do not assume a sofa shown as separate seats is truly modular or that every design can be divided without changing its appearance or structure.
Review packaging and handling
Tell the factory and freight provider which side of a module may face up, where handling access is limited and whether a wooden frame or box is needed. Ask for packed dimensions once the packing method is chosen. Compare these with the delivery route; unwrapped dimensions alone are not a safe fit test.
Confirm on-site assembly responsibility
Write down who will move the furniture indoors, connect the modules and remove packaging. Check that connectors, feet and any tools are accounted for. If the final route is uncertain, involve the local delivery team before approving production. Our room-measurement guide helps you make a clear sketch.
