How to Choose Export Packaging for Custom Furniture

· TY Furniture Factory

Start with the vulnerable parts

List glass, stone, protruding legs, polished corners and delicate upholstery before selecting packaging. A strong outer box will not protect a finish if the piece can rub against its own fittings. Ask how the furniture is wrapped, immobilized and separated from loose hardware.

Match protection to the route

Discuss how many handovers the shipment may have and whether it will travel with other cargo. Cardboard cartons, wooden frames and wooden boxes provide different forms of protection and add different size and handling requirements. The right choice depends on the product and agreed logistics plan; there is no universal package for every item.

Ask for packed dimensions and marks

Packed size and weight influence freight planning, warehouse handling and delivery access. Request the proposed packed measurements, item labels and a list linking packages to product codes. Where an item ships in several parts, make sure the matching parts are identifiable at destination.

Confirm responsibility before shipment

Agree which packaging is included in the quotation and when packing photographs or a packing list will be provided. If a buyer uses their own forwarder, share the forwarder's handover requirements early. TY offers cardboard, wooden-frame and wooden-box options according to the order's needs.
