Custom Bed Frames: Match the Mattress, Headboard and Room
· TY Furniture Factory
Confirm the actual mattress
Mattress names such as king and queen vary by market and supplier. Send the exact width, length and thickness of the mattress you will use. Ask how the bed frame supports it and whether the intended mattress will sit recessed, flush or above the frame edge.
Draw the complete bed footprint
Check the headboard width and height, side rail thickness, foot-end shape and overall outside dimensions. A padded headboard may extend beyond the mattress and interfere with switches, curtains or bedside tables. Mark these fixed features on a room plan.
Discuss support and access
Ask which support structure is proposed, how it will be assembled and whether storage or a lift mechanism is part of the design. For a high headboard or large upholstered base, confirm section sizes and the route through the building. The delivered parts may be easier to handle than an assembled frame, but that must be checked.
Approve visible and hidden details
A reference image often shows only the front. Ask about the back of a freestanding headboard, seams, fabric direction, leg treatment and visible fixings. Keep mattress dimensions and approved upholstery codes beside the CAD drawing so the factory works from one specification.
